Elly Schmidt – Violin
With over 14 years of experience as a freelancing violinist, Elly is an accomplished musician. She’s studied under many renowned musicians, has a B.M. in Violin Performance, and is a founding teacher of the San Diego Suzuki School of Music. She has performed in Europe and throughout So. California with a variety of orchestras, chamber ensembles and guest performers including: Mark O’Connor, Mannheim Steamroller, Zubin Mehta, Midori, and Randy Newman.

Danielle Kravitz – Violin, Viola
Danielle attended the University of Evansville as a music scholar where she studied music therapy. She has performed with numerous orchestras and chamber groups in a variety of settings including a European tour and the La Jolla Symphony. Her former teachers include Rebecca Campbell, Carol Dallinger, and Chi-Yuan Chen. Apart from being a freelance musician, Danielle teaches violin and viola in Encinitas as part of the San Diego Suzuki School of Music.

Catherine Godden – Cello
Catherine grew up in a musical family in Nottingham, England; starting both the cello and piano at an early age. She received an M.A. in Music from Cambridge University and completed Advanced Cello Studies at the Royal College of Music in London. She has played with many orchestras in both the U.K. and the U.S., including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Concert Orchestra, San Diego Symphony and was a member of the San Diego Chamber Orchestra for many years.
Emily Balderrama - Cello
Emily is an avid performer, and has performed solo, orchestral and chamber music in Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Austria, Luxembourg, South Korea and New York City in addition to Southern California venues. In 2015, Emily made her Carnegie Hall Debut with the CSUF Chamber Orchestra and Choir. Additionally she has had the opportunity to play in the masterclasses of Misha Maiksy, Clive Greensmith, Richard Aaron, and the Kronos Quartet.

Jonathan Smith – Violin
Jonathan Smith is a recent graduate of Bowling Green State University where he got his Masters of Music in Violin Performance in May 2013. While at BGSU he studied with Vasile Beluska and Ioana Galu. He is also a trained and certified Suzuki violin teacher and worked with the Toledo Symphony Suzuki program in 2011-2012. Jonathan began his musical study at the age of 4 in Toledo, OH. He graduated from Otterbein University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in music where he studied under David Edge. Jonathan has been working with orchestras in the Ohio and Michigan areas since 2007 as a section 2nd Orchestra in 2012-2013 and was the Principal 2nd violin privately for four years now and has had extensive training in both the Traditional and Suzuki teaching methods. He has performed many times throughout his schooling as an orchestra member, in chamber concerts, and several solo recitals. Jonathan is very excited to be in San Diego continuing his professional career.
